After not even 24 hours \u2013 far too short for this spot \u2013 I say goodbye to Laase again and set my sights on Eckernf\u00f6rde. My AWO still drags Ulla\u2019s Ural for a while, until our paths also split on the A20. The rest is more transit, so just keep moving fast. Only in L\u00fcbeck do I want to take the ferry toward Travem\u00fcnde and Timmendorfer Strand. However, despite the GPS, I miss the ferry and end up in front of the toll tunnel. So I make a U\u2011turn onto the bike path and am forced through the city. Unfortunately there\u2019s nothing worth seeing there and I\u2019m glad to be out the back again. The rest doesn\u2019t get any better, with several construction sites and my direction completely blocked in Kiel. I wander around for a short moment and am relieved to have found the right road again after leaving Kiel. I don\u2019t like Kiel (today).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finally arriving in Eck, there\u2019s first a coffee and I chat with Volker until Sani and Andre turn up to grill. The evening ends cozy with rum and I drop dead\u2011tired into bed before midnight. So dead that around 3\u202fa.m. I don\u2019t even notice the siren and helicopter with searchlights over the house. I\u2019m not sure whether I should believe Volker at all\u2014I don\u2019t know his medication\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n
